The Chronoglyph Primer

A Chronoglyph is not a picture. It is a constructed visual language built from geometry, proportion, material and time. Like any glyph, it communicates without words. Unlike a conventional symbol, however, its meaning is not exhausted in a single glance. It unfolds through sustained attention and repeated encounter.

The Chronoglyph Primer is a brief introduction to the ideas, materials and methods behind this body of work. It isn’t a catalog or an attempt to explain every piece. It is an invitation to begin looking.

The Chronoglyph Primer is only the beginning. Chronoglyphs are made to be experienced in person, where scale, texture, reflected light and changing conditions reveal relationships no photograph can fully capture. Whether through the Prime or the work itself, this is an invitation to begin looking.
